Terms & Conditions about Startravel

We at Startravel want to do everything we can to make sure your trip is enjoyable and worry-free. As part of commitment, we are including the following terms & Conditions about your trip. Please read these pages carefully, as payment of a deposit represents an acceptance of the Startravel Terms and Conditions.

Tour Fare

Prices are per person, based on two people sharing a standard twin or double room. Cruise/tour prices are based on costs, charges, tariffs, rates, taxes, levies and exchange rates as of September, 2008. We provided three meals per day during your tour. No surcharges in respect of cost or currency fluctuations will be made once payment for the deposit of your travel is received. Any taxes, charges or levies imposed by government will be included. The domestic airplane tickets for economic seats or soft-seat train tickets are included. If you need the Tibet Travel Permit application, the application fee are included. The insurance is included. An English guide and a driver will accompany in your every stop of your trip in China. More details will be found in your Itinerary.

Tour Fare Does Not Includes

Cost of passport and visas; the airplane tickets for arriving and departure China; port charges/taxes; excess baggage charges; laundry; all items of a personal nature; items not included on regular menus; expenses for additional sightseeing not specified in the itinerary; wine or liquor, unless indicated; gratuities; and health, accident, baggage.

Reservations and Payments

A deposit of at least $200 per person is required at the time of reservation. Startravel accept the deposit by telegraphic transfer. This deposit can be part of your total payment of the trip. You may recive an E-mail confirmation after you paid the deposit within 24 hours. Final payment is due at least 50 days prior to departure. Reservations will be cancelled if final payment is not received in a timely manner and your deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellation Policy

We hope nothing will come between you and your Startravel vacation. Should you need to cancel, however, your cancellation must be received by mail or Fax with your signature. And it will be effective on the date of our receipt. We will do with your cancellation requirement in two working days. Any change or substitution of a passenger will be deemed a cancellation of the reservation and the applicable cancellation charges will be applied. Cancellation charges, per person, based upon the date of cancellation, are as follows:

Airfare and Air Add-ons

Startravel wants to help make your entire vacation smooth traveling. The domestic airfare costs have been included in your tour.

China Domestic Flight Fee

Domestic flight fees include Airport construction fees, fuel fees, and the Life Insurance . This Flight Fee will be included in your tour fare as well.

Baggage, Personal Belongings

Startravel allows one suitcase per person up to 20 kilogram. Keep an eye on your baggage - it is your responsibility throughout the trip. Startravel is not responsible for lost, damage or any excess baggage and personal belongings. Any claims on damaged or lost baggage must be filed on the spot with the transportation company.

Itinerary Changes

You can count on the value of Startravel's experience and regional knowledge to make sure you enjoy your tour even when conditions beyond our control occur. The very nature of a river, its sources, and networks of bridges and locks, means that there will be times when weather or other conditions in a region require Startravel to make adjustments and/or modifications to an itinerary. Although every effort will be made to keep itineraries and hotels as they are shown in the brochure, Startravel reserves the right to substitute itineraries, hotels, flights or vessels. In such cases, we will do everything we can to make sure the locations visited, the excursions taken and the hotels or vessels offered are similar to the ones originally planned. Any changes to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund. Itineraries are subject to change without notice and may need to be altered specifically because of water levels, wind factors, or other conditions.

Advanced, Cancelled or Delayed Tour

:Startravel reserves the right to cancel any scheduled tour and/or sailing date.In the event of cancellation by Startravel , your sole right of recourse shall be to obtain a refund of monies paid to Startravel in connection with such cruise/tour.

Health and Mobility

Startravel trips are exciting, relatively active vacations. While there will be plenty of time to relax, there will also be much to see and do. Please bring any issues regarding your health or mobility to the attention of Startravel when making your booking, as this could greatly impact your vacation experience. In addition, you should know that while river cruise ships are spacious and elegant, they are equipped to meet the standards in China, and many do not have elevators. Accommodations in China may differ from accommodations in your country. If you are disabled, a companion who will be responsible for providing any required assistance must accompany you, as Startravel is unable to provide individual assistance. Startravel has sole discretion to decline the booking of any passenger whose condition may affect their own health, safety and enjoyment or that of other passengers. Additionally, Startravel reserves its right to require a current passenger to end their trip.

Medical Issues

Startravel does not employ staff doctors or nurses. Should you need medical attention, it will be at local facilities, at your expense. Startravel is not responsible for any costs incurred as a result of medical services, or for the quality of medical care or medical services you receive.

Pets

Pets are not permitted on your trips.

Responsibility & Liability

Startravel, Inc. acts only as a tour operator and an agent of China tour companies as well as other suppliers. The suppliers providing transportation, conveyance or accommodations are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of Startravel. All tickets, coupons and receipts issued by Startravel and all arrangement for transportation, conveyance or for hotel accommodations are made by Startravel as agent of the suppliers. By utilizing the service of the suppliers, you agree that neither Startravel nor any subsidiary or affiliate of Startravel shall be liable of any injury, damage, loss, accidental delay incurred by you or those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or other services resulting directly or indirectly from any acts or defaults of the suppliers or from any occurrence or condition beyond the control of Startravel including defects in vehicles or breakdown in equipment. Nor shall Startravel be liable for any injury, damage, accident, delays or changes in flights, itineraries, schedules, steamers or other services, strikes, weather, quarantine, theft, sickness or other causes. All tour itineraries and fares may be affected by alterations or delays in air or surface transportation services of various countries. Startravel reserves the right to decline, to accept or to retain any person as a member of our group at any time. Startravel reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure for any reason. In such cases, full or equitable amount will be refunded, but not to exceed the amount paid by passengers.
